An individual who strays away from the cliché things in life. One who is not afraid to break away from the crowd and be their own individual. Throughout history, a skrewball has not always fit in within culture. They do not abide to all of societies tight and rigid standards. These individuals have a craving to be different. They strive for independence and are heavily concerned with creating their own path. It's an authentic road. One that makes them, them.
We Are The Black Sheep
Born in Ocean Beach, California, Skrewball’s story is just as unique as the contents of the bottle. Skrewball started from the passion of a bartender and foodie who owned a local watering hole. His bar and restaurant is known for its band of misfits, black sheep and Skrewballs that have always encouraged the community to join the nightly party—but more importantly, were always there to support the community when anyone needed a helping hand.
When he first combined his favorite classics—peanut butter and whiskey—to create the most delicious shot, many snubbed their nose at this idea. But, it didn’t take long before it became their signature shot. He teamed up with his wife to create Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey—and to their surprise, ended up creating something even better than the original shot. Of course, the team wouldn’t be complete without the rest of the band of Skrewballs joining them to share Skrewball with the world. So, join us. Grab a glass and release your inner black sheep!
STEVEN AND Brittany Yeng
Skrewball was created by a husband and wife team. He created a peanut butter whiskey cocktail. She turned it into a brand, Skrewball. Steve Yeng is a Cambodian refugee and polio survivor. He is a kid at heart and worked behind three high-volume bars that he developed in Ocean Beach, California.
Brittany Merrill Yeng is an Ocean Beach native. She knows a good time too and also has a passion for her studies, earning a master’s in chemistry and a law degree before becoming a pharmaceutical patent attorney at a large global law firm. The two met when they were just kids and started dating in high school. After developing separate careers, they wanted to come together when they were expecting a family. And, that’s how Skrewball was born.
